An American weight loss expert named Genevieve Guidroz created the Jenny Craig diet. Nestle now owns the Jenny Craig company which began operations in Australia.

The company currently boasts 550 weight loss centers in the United States. Read on for more information.

The Jenny Craig diet is billed as the biggest weight management system in the world. The diet uses a well known formula – eat less, exercise more. Any health expert would agree. The Jenny Craig diet is designed as something people can follow for the rest of their lives.

The Jenny Craig diet has had a number of celebrity spokespeople. Kristie Alley, from Cheers and Star Trek, was one. People were amazed at how fat Kristie had become when she first appeared as the spokesperson in 2005. Her work for Jenny Craig came after she had ballooned to over 200 pounds, and appeared in a comedy documentary called Fat Actress.

As of November of 2006 she claimed to have lost 75 pounds in the Jenny Craig diet. A number of people questioned whether Kristie really lost weight while on the diet.

The company also offers one on one counseling as part of the Jenny Craig diet. The counselors have no training or certification beyond what Jenny Craig gives them. Here's how the Jenny Craig diet works. People who join start out with diet plans based on prepackaged foods.

The selection is large – over 75 frozen and dry foods to which people add things like store bought vegetables and dairy. When people have been in the program for some time they begin creating their own meal plans. Eventually the Jenny Craig foods are cut back to less than half the meals.

The Jenny Craig diet was tested by the medical site WebMD.

The conclusion was that the provided food is of high quality, and that the diet can help people lose weight fairly quickly.

So give the Jenny Craig diet a try.
