In today's less active world most of us live at a slow pace, doing nothing quickly except gaining unwanted pounds.

Chopping wood, physical labor, life burned more calories in the old days. More people drive more often, do less physical work, and have modern appliances and conveniences to carry the burden. Combine that with processed food, and the result is a slam dunk. Americans are overweight. Obesity is more than just a matter of looks. Hypertension, stroke and heart disease can all result from carrying too much weight. In other words, it's a matter of life and death. For this reason, many of us need to consider weight loss through a diet. And for most people with planned budgets, without much extra to spend, free diet programs are the best.

There are many free diet programs from which to choose. Some work, many do not, but all the good ones are best taken as part of an overall healthy lifestyle. A natural, simple approach is the best way to lose weight, and most often free. Eat less, exercise more. While exercise will make you fitter, exercise alone will not let you lose weight. Likewise, if you don't add more physical activity chances are you won't be able to eat little enough to make a difference. Combine the two as part of a normal, sustainable routine to take off the weight and keep off the weight.

Want a simple way to reduce caloric intake without the cost of specialty diet programs that include expensive food? Cut down the portions. That's right. Keep eating precisely what you now eat, but cut down the portions. Look up the nutrition values of the foods you generally eat and cut down the amounts by enough to lower intake beneath burn. You can also make a big difference, up to 90,000 calories a year for the average person, by drinking water instead of soda and juice. Tea or coffee are fine too. The caffeine helps increase your metabolism to burn calories..

On the other side of the equation ignore the ridiculous advice to exercise at least five times a week. Maintain aerobic exercise 30 minutes a day seven days a week. Kick that up a notch with extra physical movement such as parking further from the office or stores for a short walk, taking stairs instead of elevators, and using hand tools for daily or weekly chores.

|Free diet programs plus exercise equal bang zoom weight loss to the moon.
