People live at a slower pace in the modern world, at least when it comes to physical pursuits.

Chopping wood, physical labor, life was physically more demanding in the old days. Between driving, white collar work, and modern appliances to replace sweat, people have a lot less opportunity for getting physical. When that fact is combined with the high amount of processed and preserved food that we consume, the result is all too certain. Americans are overweight. And fat isn't just a look. Being overweight can lead to a number of health problems such as heart disease, hypertension, and stroke. In other words, it's a matter of life and death. That's why many people should consider losing some weight. And for most people with tight budgets, without much extra to spend, free diet programs are the best.

There are many free diet programs from which to choose. Some work, many do not, but all the good ones are best taken as part of an overall healthy lifestyle. A natural, simple approach is the best way to lose weight, and most often free. Reduce your caloric intake while at the same time raise the number of calories you burn through working out. While exercise will make you fitter, exercise alone will not make you lose weight. Likewise, if you don't add more physical activity chances are you won't be able to eat little enough to lose weight. Both diet and exercise are important parts of an overall weight loss and weight control strategy.

You want to reduce calories without spending a mint on meal plans? Eat smaller portions. You heard it. Eat the same foods but less of them. There are a lot of sources to find the caloric and nutritional value of foods when planning portion reduction. You can also make a big difference, up to 90,000 calories a year for the average person, by drinking water instead of soda and juice. Or, if you enjoy tea or coffee drink those. The caffeine in regular coffee and tea helps speed the metabolism and that equals burning calories.

On the other side of the equation ignore the ridiculous advice to exercise at least five times a week. Vigorous aerobic exercise, meaning you work up a sweat, is best as an every day routine at least 30 minutes each day. Add some extra activity by walking further from the car to the store (park further away,) taking the stairs instead of the elevator, and raking instead of blowing yard debris.

{There it is, exercise combined with free diet programs to lose weight. Live it, love it
